PLANTAR WART

A plantar wart is a type of wart that occurs on the sole of the foot. It is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which enters the body through small cuts or breaks in the skin on the bottom of the foot.

Plantar warts often have a rough, bumpy surface, and may be gray, brown, or yellow in color. They can range in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters, and may be painful when pressure is applied to them, such as when walking or standing. In some cases, plantar warts may have black dots, which are small blood vessels that have grown into the wart.

If you have a plantar wart, contact Irvine Foot & Ankle and make your appointment for a thorough evaluation and proper treatment by Dr. Michael Bastani.
