PLANTAR FASCITIIS

Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition that occurs when the thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of the foot, known as the plantar fascia, becomes inflamed or damaged. This can cause pain, stiffness, and difficulty walking, especially first thing in the morning or after periods of inactivity.

The most common cause of plantar fasciitis is overuse or strain of the plantar fascia, which can happen with activities such as running, jumping, or standing for long periods of time. Plantar fasciitis can also be caused by structural problems, such as flat feet or high arches, which can put extra strain on the plantar fascia.

Symptoms of plantar fasciitis may include pain and stiffness in the bottom of the foot, especially near the heel, and difficulty walking comfortably. The pain may be worse with the first steps in the morning or after periods of inactivity, and may improve with activity. In some cases, there may be swelling or tenderness in the affected area.
